The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates work, employees and sub-contractors engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, developing and maintaining machinery, equipment and facilities. This person is also responsible for maintenance department safety program and insuring we meet environmental regulations.
Responsible for prioritizing work with Corporate Maintenance and Plant Manager. Keep track of work completed and work that needs to be done. Works with the Production Manager and Lead Men to coordinate work and minimize down time for production.
Directs workers regarding jobs to perform, work rate, quality of work and overtime.
Directs workers regarding proper repair, installation and maintenance techniques for electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment. Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Insures workers are following all Company/OSHA/EPA safety policies/rules/guidelines, Arc Flash, company policies and proper maintenance procedures.
Performs training of new workers in proper maintenance, repair and installation techniques and procedures and insures they are fully trained.
Gives input to the Plant Manager and Corporate Maintenance for writing performance appraisals and participates in the performance review of workers.
Selects and oversees sub-contractors to perform various projects or services. Insures they are following proper safety procedures.
Completes repairs as needed.
Requisitions and keeps accurate inventory of and a supply of spare parts to minimize downtime.
Oversees and schedules a preventive maintenance schedule for appropriate machinery and equipment.
Responsible for housekeeping and organization in assigned areas.
Responsible for compliance to all applicable local, state and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Provides requested information for environmental reports and works with any OSHA, EPA or MWSDC inspectors.
Responsible for investigating near misses and accidents and filling out appropriate reports and distributing them to appropriate personnel.
Responsible for insuring all assigned equipment inspections (i.e. cranes, fork lifts, tank, man lifts, electrical, flammable cabinets, and hazardous supplies) meet Company, OSHA and EPA requirements.
Demonstrate personal support of and follow all company policies, guidelines, safety activities and procedures.
Proficient computer skills required.
Travel as required.
Assigns and participates in Maintenance emergency call (on-call) program.
Is assigned and keeps available a Company phone for off shift maintenance questions, concerns by plant personnel.
Ensures all employees under his supervision completes all required Company training.
Perform any other jobs as needed or requested.

EDUCATIONAL and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates Degree in industrial maintenance or electrical engineering preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
